My name is Mariko “Marti” Lawrence, and I am a Master of Social Work intern currently pursuing my degree at Grand Canyon University. At New Perceptions Counseling, I am gaining hands-on experience under the supervision of licensed professionals, providing counseling services to a diverse range of clients. I am deeply committed to active listening, supportive reflection, and offering unconditional positive regard. My goal is to create a safe and consistent space where clients can freely express their experiences, emotions, and thoughts. I approach my work with integrity, honesty, and straightforwardness.   My clinical interests include supporting clients facing perinatal challenges, oncology-related issues, and chronic or acute medical conditions. With a background in case management, referrals, and treatment planning, I am equipped to offer comprehensive support to those navigating complex health and life transitions.   I’m a member of the NASW and stay actively informed about evidence-based practices and policy updates. My practice is holistic, informed by ecological and systems theories, and focused on cultural competence. I use a psychodynamic, humanistic, and holistic approach, tailored to each client’s unique needs.
