About

A little about me

I earned my Masters in Counseling from Adams State University where I received a well-rounded education that emphasized exploration of counseling theories and orientations tailored to individual preferences rather than imposing rigid philosophies. I am currently pursuing a certification in Somatic Experiencing therapy, with future plans to expand my therapeutic toolkit to include certifications in Internal Family Systems therapy and EMDR.

My personal journey has lended itself to experience and competency with the needs of young adults and LGBTQ+ individuals, ethically nonmonogamous individuals, sex-positive and kink-friendly individuals, as well as neurodivergent individuals. My clinical experience has further expanded my competency with older adults, those struggling with acute traumas such as head injuries, as well as those struggling with long term illnesses.

In my therapeutic practice, I deeply value and recognize the influence of our evolutionary past on our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, honoring the systems within us that uphold our survival above all else. I am deeply engaged when it comes to helping clients understand why their “dysfunctional” behaviors and patterns make sense, and were there to help them survive at some point. Most importantly, I am here to collaborate with clients to help them feel safe in our therapeutic relationship, to help them heal relational wounds that will echo and reverberate throughout all other relationships, leading to healthy relational security and interdependence in their personal lives and social networks.
