About

A little about me

Welcome! Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, and I’m glad you’re here.

My name is Vince Ocana, and I am a Master of Social Work (MSW) intern at the University of Washington completing my clinical practicum under the supervision of the licensed clinicians at New Perceptions Counseling.

I believe each person brings unique strengths, resilience, and wisdom into the therapy room. My role is to create a supportive, collaborative environment where you feel safe to explore your story, better understand yourself, and move toward the life you want to build. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, honoring both your challenges and your capacity for growth.

In my professional career, I have worked alongside children, adolescents, adults, and families across community-based and public systems. My experience includes supporting youth and families through King County’s Best Starts for Kids initiative and working with community organizations to increase access to behavioral health and social services. These experiences have strengthened my understanding of how trauma, culture, family dynamics, and systemic barriers can shape mental health and well-being.

I welcome individuals from all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing and growth.
